Hello all

I am a car person and enjoy watching programs highlighting restorations

That said most of us watch and look to gain vehicle repair knowledge, we are not interested in the B.S. drama.

My advice to anyone planning a vehicle restoration is to Check The Shop and owner out. Learn everything you can about the history of the owner and the shop including past litigations and referrals. Rule number two is you will quickly learn that The restoration may become a bottomless pit so Be prepared to spend money. Many shops take on as much business as possible keep asking for a deposit and float your job until they get to it it becomes very frustrating but that’s the way they stay afloat you end up paying for the job I had of you and so on .

Rule three have a contract written showing what will be done so there is no ambiguous part of the project and with that have a completion date signed and notarized. As a viewer I have learned a lot about this crazy business And the manner which it is conducted.

I agree with the three rules. I did not do any of them and now paying dearly.

I trusted the owner [ big mistake] Dropped off my car gave him a $4,000 deposit . 2 months later he claimed bankruptcy and didn't do a damn thing to the car. got a call from another body shop in town [Sanford N.C] said he did same type of work. HE painted it before putting it together.

that cost me a few thousands. It is a nice paint job. Picked the car up and now it sits in my garage.

Any one reading this please don't be a dumb *** like me. Go by the three rules.
